Here comes blog number 2.

Starting with music first, its been a mixed few days as far as recording goes. On Friday I was delighted to have recorded vocals for another 5 tracks, bringing the overall tally to 13. Unlucky for some? Well, it certainly turned out to be for me. After doing a few rough mixes of some of the new tracks, I found a lot of buzz and interference with a lot of the newly recorded vocal lines. Was I a little frustrated? I was fucking puffing steam out my ears. I’m sure there a lot of fellow musicians out there who experienced similar problems in the past and it can be soul destroying. After hours of cutting, pasting, rough mixing, I’m lucky enough to have salvaged the large majority, which leaves me with just the 3 tracks with vocal lines that are fucking useless (believe me, I am grateful it’s only 3). SO… the current tally now stands at 10 completed recordings with another 13 to record vocals for (there’s that bloody number again). However, I have mixed all vocals for 2 of the songs and I’m loving the results. I’m really optimistic about this new album. Think it could be my finest release yet (although I probably say this every time).

Moving on, as I finished off my previous blog by talking football it’s only right I should continue a little further on the matter. England went out of the Euro competition at the hands of Italy. It was a pretty poor performance and another disastrous penalty shoot-out, although if we had gone through on penalties it would have felt like pure robbery. Italy thoroughly deserved to go through and now have their place in the final. I just hope it’s a cracking finale. As for England, despite failure to progress further, overall I was quite pleased with our efforts. We may not be the team we once were but I really didn’t expect us to do as well as we did and the game against Sweden was a highlight.

Back on the subject of music, I’ve been listening to the new release ‘Rainbow’ by local band Andy Jones and the Norton Rockets. Infectious pop as it’s very best, it’s an absolute corker of an album, excellent song writing, great performances and very well produced. It’s also a snip at £5 and you can buy it from eBay. Why not check them out here: Andy Jones and the NortonRockets Facebook Page
